BIO

Born and raised in Sweden, I first came to Ireland in the mid-eighties and spent a lot of time in Galway the following years. I got married in the early nineties and moved to Ireland to join my husband and settle in County Clare.

I work in a variety of media; pencil, colour pencil, ink, acrylic, oil. My work often shows ordinary things in not-so-ordinary settings, sometimes with an element of surprise. Abstract compositions with interacting lines, planes and shapes, also fascinate me – I’m probably painting more with my brain than with my heart. Two of my all-time favourite artists are the mesmerizing Escher and the more philosophical Kandinsky, but I take inspiration from many other artists and writers, as well as from people I meet in daily life.
